New Pennsylvania Testing Requirements

Pennsylvania has introduced changes to its required testing protocol. Please review the following changes, if you test for radon in Pennsylvania:

  1. Your test report emails will soon include two attachments: the doc form pdf and the recommended actions page.

  2. New required fields appear on the doc form.

  3. The code requires that the certifying lab (Radalink) provide the resident or homeowner with the radon test results. Therefore, an email contact for the resident / home owner will now be required on the doc form in the recipient section, so they can be contacted.

  4. A new general authorization agreement has been produced. It is available in the documents section on MyRadalink.com, and by shortcut here: https://myradalink.com/edocs/Authorization_Agreement.pdf.

  5. You are required to keep the new authorization form on file in your office. For your convenience MyRadalink.com gives you the option of uploading a scanned copy of the Authorization form with each new doc form you create. Just click “attach scan files” at the top of any doc form entry page for which you want to upload a copy of the form. This will open the Attach Scanned Documents page where you can upload an image of your signed authorization form.  If you are not also providing a sketch diagram (also optional) then please choose "combination file" as the file type, so that it ends up appearing in both the Authorization Form and Sketch thumbnails. The form will not be in the test report, but will be part of the record on MyRadalink.com.

  6. The code requires tests to run a full 48-hour test and does not allow for a 2-hour grace period as before.  In the AirCat app, use the longer 48-hour pickup time.

  7. The code requires you to simultaneously test the lowest livable area for each structural zone that contacts the soil. § 240.310. Testing protocols. a. (3)
